Worshipful Brother Rooney reminded us at LOI that excellence in our work isn’t accidental, it’s built, step by step, through intention, preparation, and care for one another.
In his thoughtful talk on Lodge leadership, he offered a clear roadmap for strengthening our work, bringing order to our operations, deepening engagement, and supporting healthy growth.
Three takeaways stood out:
- Engage your audience. Ritual is not a script to recite, it’s a message to deliver. Presence, clarity, and purpose invite every Brother in the room to lean in and reflect.
- Create meaningful relationships. Strong floor work is strengthened by strong fellowship. When we invest in mentorship, encouragement, and shared practice, we elevate the experience for every officer and candidate.
- Plan your events ahead of time. The most memorable evenings are the ones designed with care. Preparation, of the work, the setting, and the flow of the night, creates engagement and commitment.
We are grateful for Worshipful Brother Rooney’s instruction and example. May we each take up the charge to keep studying, practicing, and polishing our labors.
